1. From the poor writer of circumstances
To the brilliant, knowledgeable Imam

2. To the unique, eloquent, singular jewel
Suleiman, the noble one of a kind

3. I send a fragrant greeting, its scent permeating
Its goodness refreshing the soul

4. Its light seizing the sights
And its mention spreading in the lands

5. He crafted it from his mind and thoughts
Carried by the hands of generous, righteous men

6. To the beloved who has gained the passion of love
And to whom my heart and innermost being have inclined

7. My heart journeyed in his footsteps
As if, O friend, from among his companions

8. To the abode of revelation and message
And the source of wisdom and courage

9. The fountain of grace and essence of his being
As came in his transmission and text

10. The master of all people and their head
Their musk, perfume, and staff

11. Muhammad Ahmad, all of creation
And the best of those gathered and separated

12. There Salman halted his journey
Good tidings to him, for he has attained safety

13. Then the state of affairs calls out to him
Salman, from us has attained union

14. And after fulfilling his allotted time with the Chosen One
Comes the companion of the cave

15. The lordly truthful one, the best of successors
And after him, the Discriminating, guardian of the creed of Hanifa

16. And after him to the Enlightened witness
And after fulfilling his time there

17. He travels toward Noble Mecca
Circling the House and coming to Arafat

18. What blissful, lofty, sublime felicity
Above which is the sky

19. Congratulations O son of noble youth
For what God has granted you of virtues

20. You have departed from us rightfully, learned
May God return you to us unharmed

21. So listen, Abu Ahmed, to what has happened to me
During your blessed, virtuous journey

22. Clarifying the circumstances, which interlaced
Truthfully, ascending its levels

23. When your letter reached us
With his handwriting and truthful, pursued words

24. Then a severe cold struck us
Against which no young man had power

25. It paralyzed our palms and fingers
And muted our whispering tongues

26. The ice broke all pots
And extinguished, O Salman, all embers

27. It continued harming us with its fury
As if it were Al-Hajjaj over his subjects

28. Then its measured days passed
And we wrote not fifty pages from it

29. And after it turned away from us and departed
With the sun of my resolve risen above Saturn

30. I girded my loins, lighting my lamp
To write a notebook over notebooks

31. And I kept writing in the margins
Until my temples pounded from the fatigue

32. And whenever I recalled an empty line
My vigor returned again and again

33. But I took red ink
And extra paper and a ruler

34. I remain victorious over our enemies
May God return you to our lands

35. And news has reached us about you
With what the wretched youths have done

36. When they gathered their armies and fought
Their transgressions spreading and they struck

37. Your beautiful self faced them
While you were with a small band

38. And our Lord protected you from their harm
Such that you repelled their plot into their throats

39. So praise be to God for safety
For he who attains it has no regret

40. Then overflowing greetings
To the dear brother Mulla Hamid

41. And after him, Sir Isa Al-Kurdi
It's as if, though distant from me

42. And we ask everyone's prayers
In the garden of the intercessor and purifier

43. Blessings of God upon him, for as long as the living speak
And upon his family and companions, the pious

44. Whether to the Hejaz or Damascus
Understand the meaning of my discourse upon the arrival

45. Of this package, so comprehend my speech
As I, Salman of wisdom and planning

46. Approach with fingers ready to write
May its arrival bring goodness and fortune
